Richmond Times-Dispatch, 10/22/2008 - Media General Inc. has sold 50 acres in the Atlee Station office park in Hanover County to Owens & Minor Inc.
The land is part of a 236-acre office park off U.S. 301 near Interstate 295 owned by Richmond-based Media General, the parent company of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The newspaper's production plant also is in the park.

RichmondBizSense.com, 9/8/2008 - A new retail center will be opening in Ashland in the spring. Preleasing has begun at Wigwam Crossing. The multi-purpose retail center will be built on the site of the former Wigwam restaurant and dance hall, a recognizable landmark in Hanover County along Route 1. The actual Wigwam will not be demolished, but its future use is still unknown. Wigwam Crossing will be comprised of two buildings totaling 34,800 sf. No tenants have been announced yet.

The property on U.S. 1 about 2 miles north of Virginia Center Commons will house a 33,000-square-foot shopping center that will include retail shops and restaurants.

The estimate by the National Agricultural Statistics Service puts the average value of Virginia farm real estate, which includes land and buildings, at $5,900 per acre.
Richmond Times-Dispatch, 7/24/2008 - Hanover supervisors last night unanimously approved adding a new section to the county's comprehensive plan aimed at keeping some affordable housing in Hanover.
The Board of Supervisors approved the voluntary program that asks developers to mix in some affordable housing as they create new developments of pricier homes, said John H. Hodges, a deputy county administrator.
